Howdy,

An all-electric

federal vehicle fleet

was recently announced.  Meanwhile, the Keystone XL pipeline is

being shuttered

and new oil and gas

permits are being 'suspended'

.  

So, as expected, it looks like full-torque ahead for EVs - like it or not.  In fact, one analytics company is

projecting a 71% increase in EV sales

this year.  

71% sounds like - and is - a huge increase.  But, Americans are still buying way-more fuel-combustion vehicles.  That said, the trend seems undeniable.  Even

Shell is buying into an electric future.

However, gas-pumping car lovers could find this slight silver lining.  There's a

new law designed to support the creation of a bunch of new carmakers

.  Specifically, companies that make 'emissions-compliant kit cars' - licensed replicas.  SEMA seems to be behind it.

A torque-ey EV can be fun to drive.  But I'm in no rush for an all-electric future.
